A Word From the Pastor

September 19th, 2020 (updated)

New Guidelines starting October 4th:

SUMMARY

Masks will be worn from your car until you are seated, also when outside the sanctuary such as the halls, etc., and then back out to the car, and whenever you feel more comfortable wearing one.

Please no handshaking and embracing, fist and elbow bumps instead.

Families that have tested positive – quarantine for 2 weeks – we want to protect our elders as well, as they are the most vulnerable.

Please adhere to social distancing guidelines and sit at least 2 seats away from others in rows; those of the same households and families please sit together.

Please use hand sanitizers as you arrive or leave and wash hands regularly as you use the facilities during service.

Please do not congregate in the foyer, restrooms, side rooms or outside of the church but go home directly after service.

Please follow directions from the deacons and trustees and note that overflow rooms will be provided when the sanctuary fills; namely the foyer and youth classrooms with monitors.

In addition, please stay home if:

  • Please stay home if you have a fever.
  • Please stay home if you have any symptoms of the virus.
  • Please stay home if anyone in your household is sick or tested positive.
  • Please stay home if you received a positive active COVID 19 lab test result – even if you feel fine and have no symptoms
  • Please stay home if you have come into contact with someone that has COVID 19 and you have not quarantined for 14 days or more.

A WORD FROM THE PASTOR

SEPTEMBER 19TH 2020

Heb 10:25
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

2 Thess 2:1-2
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

BELOVED SAINTS OF GOD AT ELF,

IT HAS BEEN ON MY HEART FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS CONCERNING OPENING OUR CHURCH BACK UP TO EVERYONE WHO DESIRES TO COME, THAT THEY MAY COME TO EVERY SERVICE THAT WE ARE HAVING IN OUR CHURCH FACILITY. LAST WEDNESDAY EVENING AFTER THE SERVICE, I HELD A BOARD MEETING AND PRESENTED MY DESIRES TO THE BOARD. I GOT A UNANIMOUS VOTE FROM OUR TRUSTEES AND DEACONS, THAT THEY AGREED WITH ME THAT IT WAS TIME TO OPEN CHURCH BACK UP TO EVERYONE FOR EVERY SERVICE. I HAVE DECIDED THAT WE WILL NO LONGER BE RESTRICTING OUR MEMBERS TO WAIT FOR THEIR TURN ON SUNDAYS ACCORDING TO THE ALPHABETICAL ORDER THAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS. WE WILL START THIS THE FIRST WEEK OF OCTOBER, AS PER DETAILS LISTED BELOW.

EVERYONE WELCOME BACK

AS PASTOR OF THE CHURCH, AND HAVING THE OVERSIGHT OF OUR ASSEMBLY, I AM TAKING THIS MOMENT TO LET ALL OF OUR CHURCH MEMBERS KNOW THAT AS OF SUNDAY OCTOBER 4TH, WE WILL INVITE EVERYONE BACK TO EVERY SERVICE FROM THAT TIME FORWARD.

MASKS RECOMMENDED

WE WILL BE ENCOURAGING EVERYONE TO STILL IMPLEMENT WEARING THEIR MASKS TO AND FROM THE CHURCH BUILDING, INCLUDING WHEN THEY FELLOWSHIP OUTSIDE TOGETHER AFTER SERVICE. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO WEAR THE MASK ONCE INSIDE THE SANCTUARY, BUT WE WILL LEAVE THIS DISCRETION UP TO EVERY MEMBER ON WHETHER THEY FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE LEAVING THEIR MASKS ON DURING THE SERVICE OR WHETHER THEY CHOSE TO TAKE THEM OFF. LET THAT BE YOUR DECISION.

THIS IS HOW WE HONOR WHAT THE CDC AND LOCAL AND FEDERAL GUIDELINES RECOMMEND, AND TO SHOW THOSE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT WE ARE ALSO DOING WHAT WE CAN TO STOP THE SPREAD OF THE CORONA VIRUS.

SHAKING HANDS AND EMBRACING ONE ANOTHER

ENJOY YOUR TIME OF FELLOWSHIP TOGETHER AFTER CHURCH OUTSIDE THE CHURCH BUILDING, AND FIST BUMP OR ELBOW BUMP INSTEAD OF SHAKING HANDS AND EMBRACING ONE ANOTHER.

CHURCH SANITIZED WITH MICROBIAL DISINFECTANT

WE HAVE TAKEN ALL PRECAUTIONARY METHODS AND HAVE JUST THIS WEEK SPRAYED THE ENTIRE CHURCH FACILITY WITH AN ANTIMICROBIAL SOLUTION THAT KILLS THE VIRUS FOR UP TO 60 DAYS OR MORE. THERE HAVE BEEN HAND SANITIZING STATIONS ALSO PROVIDED IN STRATEGIC LOCATIONS, AND EVERYONE IS RECOMMENDED TO WASH THEIR HANDS ENTERING AND EXITING THE CHURCH FACILITY.

SEATING WITHIN THE SANCTUARY

WE WILL BE RECOMMENDING TWO SEATS LEFT OPEN BETWEEN CHURCH MEMBERS THAT ARE NOT IMMEDIATE FAMILY OR RELATIVES THAT NORMALLY SIT TOGETHER. WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE LEAVING FULL ROWS OF SEATS EMPTY AS WE HAVE DONE IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS. OUR CHURCH HAS THE SEATING CAPACITY TO FIT EVERYONE IN THE CHURCH SANCTUARY AT ONE TIME WITHOUT SOCIAL DISTANCING, BUT IT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR US TO SEAT EVERYONE IN THE SANCTUARY USING THE SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES. THEREFORE, WE WILL HAVE THE FOYER, THE JUNIOR AND SENIOR YOUTH ROOMS READILY AVAILABLE WITH LARGE MONITORS FOR THOSE WHO COME LATE OR WHO DESIRE TO SIT IN A PLACE THAT IS MORE ISOLATED FROM THE MAIN ASSEMBLY. OUR DEACONS, TRUSTEES AND USHER WILL BE HAPPY TO ASSIST YOU IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL NEEDS OR REQUESTS. THOSE WHO COME EARLY WILL BE SEATED IN THE SANCTUARY AND FILL IT UP FIRST, BEFORE WE START UTILIZING THE ROOMS FOR THE OVERFLOW. I AM ASKING ALL OF YOU TO HELP US DURING THIS TIME OF TRANSITION, TO DO AS WE HAVE SUGGESTED AND HELP US BY BEING VERY MUCH AWARE OF THE POLICIES AND SELF IMPOSE AND ADHERE” TO THOSE GUIDELINES FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILIES THAT WE HAVE SET FORTH WHILE SITTING WITHIN THE SANCTUARY. THIS WILL HELP OUR BRETHREN OUT IMMENSELY THAT ASSIST IN GETTING EVERYONE SEATED IN THE SANCTUARY IN A SAFE AND TIMELY MANNER.

ELDERLY OR THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

WE WANT TO PROTECT OUR ELDERLY SAINTS (THOSE OVER 65 YEARS OLD, OR OTHERS WHO HAVE PRE-EXISITING HEALTH CONDITIONS) SO WE ARE PREPARED TO ASSIST THEM BY PROVIDING A SPECAL ISOLATED PLACE JUST FOR THEM IF NEEDS BE. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ONE OF THE BOARD MEMBERS IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL REQUESTS.

TROUBLESOME AND PERILOUS TIMES

THIS YEAR HAS BEEN QUITE UNUSUAL DURING THIS TIME OF THE PANDEMIC THAT HAS HIT ALL COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD; SOME ARE MORE RESTRICTIVE IN THEIR ACTIONS, AND SOME ARE MORE LENIENT. WE WILL PROCEED AS THE LORD LEADS US HERE IN OUR LOCAL ASSEMBLY. REALIZE THAT WE MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND EVERYTHING WE DO IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS WE DEEM IT NECESSARY TO DO SO.

OUR CHURCH IS SOVEREIGN WITHIN ITSELF, AND AS PASTOR I WILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE CHURCH GUIDELINES DURING THIS TIME. I REALIZE THAT THERE WILL BE SOME WHO WILL NOT BE IN FAVOR “WHICHEVER WAY” WE SHOULD CHOSE TO GO WITH THESE DECISIONS, AS YOU CANNOT PLEASE EVERYONE ALL THE TIME.

SICK OR NOT FEELING WELL

STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK AND NOT FEELING WELL, OR IF ANYONE IN YOUR FAMILY HOUSEHOLD HAS COME DOWN WITH THE CORONA VIRUS. ISOLATION AND QUARANTINE IS RECOMMENDED FOR 2 WEEKS BEFORE COMING BACK TO CHURCH.

I AM UNDER GREAT ANTICIPATION AND EXPECTATIONS FOR WHAT THE LORD WILL DO AMONG US IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I HAVE INVITED SEVERAL MINISTERS TO COME MINISTER FOR US IN THE NEAR FUTURE, AND I BELIEVE ITS TIME TO HAVE SOME SPECIAL REVIVAL MEETINGS AND STIR UP THE TROOPS ONCE AGAIN. GOD IS GOING TO DO POWERFUL, WONDERFUL AND SUPERNATURAL THINGS AMONG US. WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS, BUT WE KNOW WHO HOLDS THE FUTURE.

PRAY MUCH, READ YOUR BIBLES DAILY AND KEEP YOUR FAMILIES AND LOVED ONES CLOSE TO YOU. JUST AS ISRAEL WENT THROUGH SO MANY TRIALS AND TEMPTATIONS DURING THEIR EXODUS JOURNEY, SO ARE WE IN ANOTHER EXODUS IN THIS OUR DAY. WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER, AND WE WILL OVERCOME THE GATES OF THE ENEMY. HALLELUJAH!

IN CHRISTIAN LOVE,

YOUR BROTHER IN CHRIST RON PETERSON
